Arkham Intel Exchange Upgrades to Chainlink Functions

April 23, 2024

We’re pleased to announce the successful implementation of Chainlink Functions within the intel verification process of the Arkham Intel Exchange - a major step towards full decentralization of intel verification. Integrating Chainlink’s industry-standard oracle solution adds an additional, decentralized layer between the Arkham Foundation’s intel verification and the smart contract which pays out successful intel submitters. This integration replaces the existing centralized oracle solution with a decentralized oracle network, a technical prerequisite for decentralized verification.

We leverage Chainlink Functions because its serverless developer features enable us to connect to and transform data in a decentralized manner. Functions not only provides an environment and toolkit to build, test, simulate, and run custom JavaScript logic offchain, but more broadly and longer term it also enables us to connect to Web2 datasets, public or private APIs, and legacy systems. This ultimately helps to unlock new use cases, build faster, reach users at an accelerated pace, and further decentralize the protocol.

About Chainlink and Chainlink Functions

Chainlink is the industry-standard decentralized computing platform powering the verifiable web. Chainlink has enabled over $10 trillion in transaction value by providing financial institutions, startups, and developers worldwide with access to real-world data, offchain computation, and secure cross-chain interoperability across any blockchain. Chainlink powers verifiable applications and high-integrity markets for banking, DeFi, global trade, gaming, and other major sectors.

Learn more about Chainlink by visiting chain.link or reading the developer documentation at docs.chain.link.

Chainlink Functions is a serverless developer platform for fetching data from any API, running custom, JavaScript-based compute using Chainlink’s network on that data, and delivering the results back to smart contracts.
